According to the bvdm telegram for November 2013, the economic situation of the german print industry has considerably improved. Although expectations for the future remain guarded, the economic climate is stabilized in this sale-strong month.
The share of print businesses rating their current business situation as satisfying or better has increased to 86%. An aggregate response of 24% was recorded, a high value last seen in December 1991. Compared to the month before, the aggregate response is also higher.
The expectations for the coming six months have declined. The aggregate response for expectations of business climate is at -27% for November. The percentage of print entrepreneurs expecting an improvement is at 8%, whereas 35% think the situation will decline. In November 2012, the future business situation has been anticipated roughly the same way, with -28%. This data is heavily influenced by the seasonal dependencies of the german print industry. Apart from sales around Easter, the months in spring and summer are considered to bring the weakest results.
